CSMIA, with a rich history of over 90 years, is spread over 1,900 acres and holds the distinction of being India’s second busiest airport in terms of passenger traffic, managing 55.12 million passengers in FY2024-25. As the world’s busiest single-runway airport, CSMIA features a unique cross-runway configuration, catering to nearly 1,000 Air Traffic Movements (ATMs) every day. With a ‘digital-first’ philosophy, the airport offers every passenger a seamless experience, driven by state-of-the-art technology, infrastructure and operational excellence. As a key EXIM and logistics hub, CSMIA houses one of India’s largest Air Cargo Terminal, managing air cargo in excess of 0.85 million metric tonnes per annum.
In December 2024, CSMIA became the first airport in India and third airport in the World to achieve Level 5 accreditation for Airport Customer Experience from Airports Council International (ACI). In March 2025, passengers voted Mumbai International Airport the 'Best Airport Over 40 Million Passengers’ in Asia Pacific for the Eighth Consecutive Year.
Sustainability is intrinsic to CSMIA, and its initiatives align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in accordance with Global Reporting Initiatives (GRI) standards. CSMIA has achieved the prestigious Level 4+ ‘Transition of the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) programme of ACI.
Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) is a joint venture between Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) and Airports Authority of India (AAI), with AAHL holding 74 percent stake.
